Erin and Andy's Wedding Portland's romantic Park Blocks
Posted by Jos Smith:
Erin and Andy gathered at the Embassy Suites in downtown Portland. They were married at The First Congregational Church of Christ on SW Broadway in Portland's romantic park blocks. Rachel and I had Erin and Andy see each other in the middle of a street intersection. They stopped the traffic! :) One of my favorite images was witnessing Andy hug his best man just before the ceremony near the officiant. Moments like that happen so quickly and you never know if you get a sharp image, that's why I fired off a eight shots in one second. The reception ballroom event was a room full of decadent ornamentation held in the Gevurtz Room. The dancing was unbelievable! I've never seen so much ecstatic dancing at a wedding! Hat's off to Erin and Andy! Both Rachel and I were SO honored to be the photographers at this incredible wedding. Stay tuned for the coming slide show!

I was so sorry to have missed Andrew and Erin's wedding while I was in Florida with Adrienne and her family. Opportunities to be together with all the cousins don't happen often now (especially joyful ones) because of the size of the family and I hated to miss seeing everyone. It was wonderful to get a batch of pictures from Margaret and Keith while I was in Florida and an added bonus to happen across the photographer's posting by way of the Bravo! newsletter. What a spectacular event!
I was also pleased when I noticed that the wedding took place at the church designed by my childrens' great-great grandfather (on their father's side), Henry Hefty. There is a plaque outside the entrance that tells a little about him. Extra special. :) Coincidentally, their paternal grandmother died the day after the wedding, and because I was in Florida Adrienne was able to fly to Bend for the funeral.
Gratefully,
